Pacific Carbon began life as an idea from a chance meeting nearly 6 years ago. Today we are the first new coke production in Newcastle since BHP.

Through the efforts of Trevor Welsh (Director of PCP) we have moved from an idea to reality in just over 2 years.

The plants current capacity is 25,000 mt per annum. We provide employment to 8               Novocastrians and business for up to 30 different          Figure 1 Plant under construction companies in the Newcastle region.

The product has gained wide acceptance within the steel and smelting industries. Even though we are only 6 months into our life PCP has provided material to 5 new markets and 4 different product applications.

We are currently preparing our first bulk cargo, which will be shipped in December 2002 for trial in January - February 2003.
